Inspired by the thought-objects of Matthew Ritchie’s NOEMA, Artist-in-residence, Dance and Choreographer Flora Wiegmann translated the diagrams into the language of movement and will record these readings as they activate the space.

On August 20th at 3pm, join Flora as she presents her collection of choreographies and scores inspired by NOEMA in a formal performance. Flora will perform her new work with dancer Devika Wickremesinghe at ESMoA. The performance will also be livestreamed on ESMoA’s Facebook page.

About Flora Wiegmann

Flora Wiegmann is a Los Angeles-based dancer and choreographer. She works in both live performance and film, often making research-based work that is specific to its particular site. She has had the opportunity to collaborate with artists such as Fritz Haeg, Silke Otto-Knapp, Amy Granat, Miljohn Ruperto, and now, Matthew Ritchie. Her projects have been presented at the ICA, Philadelphia; The Kitchen, New York; the California Biennial and LA><ART in California, The David Roberts Foundation and The Camden Arts Centre, London; The Banff Center for Creativity in Canada, and Université Rennes in France. She is co-founder of the Laboratory for Embodied Intelligences with Nina Waisman where they have been translating scientific research in the field of astrobiology into movement.
